Mexico is a vibrant mix of Spanish, Native American and Caribbean cultures. It is a land of best beach holidays in Cancun and Riviera Maya, a land of ancient monuments of mysterious civilizations and tourist attractions of the island of Cozumel.

The indigenous population of Mexico is Indians. This is what Columbus called the natives because he thought that found a new route to India. Many Indian tribes lived on Mexican soil, but the most famous were the Mayans and Aztecs.


The lion’s share of Mexico’s foreign trade is with the United States. American corporations control the flow of investment into the Mexican economy. Oil production is concentrated on the East coast while other regions of the country are used for agriculture. The most common crops are wheat, rice, barley, maize and sorghum. Tropical crops are grown mainly for export and include fruits and vegetables, especially tomatoes, oranges, mangoes and bananas. Other important export crops include coffee.

Cultural notes

Children's education and medicine are paid services. It is also customary to have a housekeeper and a nanny. It is not expensive here, since these are people from different socio-economic layers. Public transport is not developed, everybody uses cars. People from other countries are very popular in Mexico. Marriage with a foreigner is often prestigious and fashionable.

Not all of Mexico is desert and cacti. There are snow-capped peaks, and the azure coast of the Caribbean Sea, thick forests and even the jungle.
