UFC heavyweight fighter Anderson dos Santos participated in a protest, which was held in Sao Paulo. All sports gyms were closed because of the pandemic crisis. Demonstrators said that nowadays there is a huge demand to open sport gyms despite the economic crisis.

Anderson dos Santos has joined dozens of martial arts practitioners this weekend to participate in the  protest in front of the Legislature of Sao Paulo.

The government has recently announced that the economy will begin to reopen from May 11th. But gyms are not included in the program. The protesters asked to include MMA in the group of permitted activities.

"We bring health and sports to the gym, it's important to make some physical activities. Moreover, coaches who work in gyms have to pay money to gyms` owners. If we open the gyms, people will keep their businesses alive," dos Santos said to MMA Fighting Media.
