The Financial Times has backed down

The newspaper was forced to publish the Russian Ambassador’s harsh note to back down from accusing the Russian Federation of lowering the official numbers of the COVID-19 victims.

The British Financial Times published a letter from the Russian Ambassador to the UK, Andrey Kelin, who addressed the Editorial Board of the paper. In his text, Kelin strongly disagrees with the newspaper's coverage of Russia's efforts to combat the pandemic. In fact, this publication can be considered as a refutation of previous reports by British journalists.

The Financial times wrote that the death rate from coronavirus in Russia may be much higher than the official data, reminds the TV channel Russia 24. However, this claim was immediately refuted not only by Russian doctors, but also by experts of the World Health Organization.
