Once upon a time, Flash Player, developed by Adobe, was the only way to add rich interactive content or animation to your website. However, problems with migration of the plug-in to mobile devices and the complete refusal of some popular platforms to support it have issued Adobe Flash a verdict. Now, it became known when this sentence would be finally carried out.

Although Adobe announced the end of development of Flash Player back in 2017, the company continued to release patches that fixed security vulnerabilities. A while ago, the company announced the date when it will stop doing this - December 31, 2020.

In addition, starting from January 1, 2021, you will no longer be able to download Flash Player from the Adobe website, and sites that still use the plugin will not be able to display their content through it.

While Flash Player had no alternative, users had to put up with its insecurity and excessive appetite for system resources. However, over the past decade, the development of HTML5 technologies has allowed you to create much richer online content with less resources and greater versatility.

Adobe says that later this year it will launch a campaign to inform users — those who still have Flash Player installed will be strongly recommended to remove it from the system.
