The minister of communications and mass-media of Venezuela Jorge Rodriguez said that the ministry has some video and audio evidence of the US exposure to the region. Rodriguez asserts that the intelligence services have collected the information about operation Gedeon supported by the Colombian Army.

The minister claimed that the government of Colombian leader Ivan Duque allowed the moving of arms, uniform and other military ammunition to assist the operation Gedeon. The operation failed and many people were arrested in the wake of an attempt of the military coup in May.

According to Rodriguez the murder of the Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro was the main aim of the failed operation. Also, the plotters wanted to destroy the Miraflores Palace killing the leaders of the country. Rodriguez added that another target of the operation was the control of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
